Valdivia Earthquake 1960

On the Sunday, 22nd May 1960 an earthquake took place in Valdivia killing over 3000 people. This earthquake caused waves up to 25 meters also killing many of people. The earthquake caused tsunamis and affected southern Chilli, Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, eastern New Zealand, southeast Australia and the Aleuntian Islands of Alaska. The earthquake happend at 19:11 GMT 15:11 local time and got a reading of 9.5 on the magnitude scale.
